It’s been a strange couple of weeks. I don’t know if it’s because of the holidays or because work/life seems to get a lot busier toward the end of the year, but it’s as if everyone is suffering from a case of ‘too busy’, myself included. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day!
I’ve been using being busy as an excuse for not being on top of my workouts, but as I sit here sipping my coffee and relaxing before doing yet more work, I’m realizing that it’s just that: an excuse. We all have 24 hours in a day and we all have things going on, but when something matters to you, you make time for it – this applies to all facets of life. And the fact that my glutes are less perky than they were 2 weeks ago matters to me dammit! Doing more cardio while cutting back on the lifting does NOT work for me.
So just like work and auditions, I am going to once again schedule my workouts in regularly and treat them as if they are appointments that I can’t afford to miss ( because really, I can’t). And if you find that you’re overwhelmed with the end-of-year-holiday-time-crunch I suggest you take a step back and pace yourself so you don’t end up with the end-of-year-holiday-burn-out or the where-did-this-weight-come-from blues.
